Over Endeavoring Can Lead to Hindrances in Devotion

Over Endeavoring is in Prabhupada’s words keeping it simple is, when it becomes a disturbance to your devotional practice you make a modest effort. We say in America, give it a college try; you make a plan, you act in a reasonable manner to fulfill the plan, and you don’t cut into your spiritual life. Your spiritual life should not be suppressed or diminished or curtailed or squashed because you are endeavoring for something, whatever that might be. You think of so many applications, but endeavor and not to the expense of your sanity. Not to the expense of your core devotion. Say it the positive, your core devotion takes precedence and whenever extra. Prabhupada said like this: Health, Saadhana, Seva. Sometimes seva or getting stuff done compromises health and compromises saadhana, no good. And over time, health compromised, you can do less seva. And Saadhana compromised, you’re out of the door or down. So endeavoring is fine but over endeavoring is not fine.
